Week 3 Choices:

Cup Stacking

Need 12 cups per person.  Make a starting line and a finish line.  Leave cups behind starting line.  Stack cups 4 rows on top of the next row 4-3-2-1.  Race a partner or time yourself.

  • Start with one cup in your hand

  • Run to finish line, place cup behind line.

  • Run to starting line, get another cup, run down, place behind finish line.

  • Continue pattern, placing 4 cups on bottom row -3 on third row, -2 on second row-1 on top.

  • Game is complete after all 12 cups are stacked!

  • Can you create your own stacking pattern?

Plank Soccer:

You need a partner. Get in high plank position (arms are shoulder width apart & straight/ legs straight behind, with feet together). Use a small ball or beanbag..

  • Staying in a high plank, push the ball or beanbag on floor with your hand trying to score a goal between your partners arms.

  • Every time the ball or beanbag goes between your partner’s arms, you score a goal.

  • Defense: use one hand to prevent ball or beanbag from going between your arms.

Line Drill:

Do this drill with a partner or time yourself. Mark 4 lines 5 yards apart (5 giant steps).

  • Start at 1st line, run to 2nd line~ touch.  Run back to 1st line~ touch.

  • Run to 3rd line~ touch.  Run back to 1st line~ touch.

  • Run to 4th line ~touch.  Run back to 1st line~ run thru 1st line.

  • Repeat!

Don’t Let The Balloon Touch The Ground:

This is the classic game that kids fall for every time. The rules are simple – hit the balloon up in the air but don’t let it touch the ground. To make it more challenging for older kids, have them juggle more than 1 balloon, or tie one hand behind their back. Time them to see how long they can do it for, or if you have multiple kids, have them count how many times they can hit it back and forth…then see if they can beat their time or score! This game is great for improving arm strength and hand-eye coordination.

Airplane Landing:

Make paper airplanes and throw them. The catch? You have to get your airplane and bring it back to the start line without walking – this could be running, hopping, skipping, twirling, crawling…let them get creative!
